Doctoral Research Focus
Agile Leadership in Information Technology
As a Ph.D. candidate in Leadership, I study how leadership is practiced inside Agile information technology environments where authority is often distributed across product owners, Scrum Masters, engineers, quality professionals, and other team members. My research looks at how leadership behaviors emerge during collaboration, decision-making, conflict resolution, feedback, and continuous improvement.
The study also examines the relationship between leadership and core Agile practices — including servant leadership, self-organizing teams, psychological safety, stakeholder communication, adaptability, accountability, and team empowerment. A key interest is understanding how leaders create enough structure and direction to support delivery while still preserving the autonomy and responsiveness that Agile teams need.
By connecting doctoral research with hands-on experience in Scrum, QA/QE, software delivery, and technology leadership, my goal is to better understand what helps Agile IT teams build trust, respond to change, improve quality, and consistently deliver meaningful outcomes.
